My passion for developing strength began at a young age. My knowledge of sports was limited. I tried to glean information from the trainers at the gym and the professionals around me, and it seemed that all I could understand was how to squeeze my muscles in every workout.
At the age of 20, all my training stopped due to a two-month long hospitalization, in which I was eventually diagnosed with Crohn's disease. My condition was very serious. I was discharged home, skin and bones intact. I went from 90 kg to 64.5 kg.
I couldn't return to training right away, so I took the time to learn about nutrition and health, and slowly, with God's help, my health returned to strength.
They say that knowledge is power, and in my case, that was very true. After 4 years from the date of diagnosis, I already wanted to enter and compete seriously in powerlifting.
I arrived at my first competition (which was held with doping tests) weighing 83 kg, and lifted a total of 640 kg. Deadlift 280 kg, squat 200 kg, and bench 160 kg, which at the time gave me 3 Israeli records in the up to 90 kg category.
In the next competition, I increased my record to 670 kg total, at a body weight of 87 kg.
Today I am the all-time Israeli record holder in two weight categories. I have managed to compete in Israel and represent Israel in the world. I have accompanied many trainees to competitions and very impressive Israeli records and to international competitions.
Powerlifting for me today is the direction I direct my physical and mental health to, and from there I also draw them. When I invest in strength training, I also eat healthily, sleep and am in a much better mood.
Powerlifting is a way that can help many people become healthier and happier, and beyond that, it is a fascinating sport that has grown in popularity incredibly.
In recent years, I have accompanied many trainees, some to impressive competitions, and some to become healthy and strong and train correctly.
